​Our second goal is to provide a place where people from our communtiy and surrounding areas can come to find affordable new, gently used clothing, household items and furniture. We are very selective about what kinds of items that are taken in from donations. As we go through the items donated, if we decide they are not what we want in Ubuntu, we do not throw anything away but donate them on to another collection company such as Good Will, DAV, Salvation Army and other local second hand shops.
Humanity to others

​Our number one goal is to earn enough money to give back to our community and surrounding areas. We are a small rural community of 600 people and we find our needs getting bigger and bigger yet we have only ourselves to rely on for those extras. Our projects that we will be supporting will be our local food bank, our schools, scholarships, community park and recreation, individuals who are in need of temporary help, our elderly and senior citizens center and Prairie Sunset Home, our Civic Theater and the community museum that is in the works.
Coffee and Conversation
We always have a pot of coffee on and welcome visitors to stop in for a cup. Sit down and tell us about your day. Bring a group in to shop or take a class. And please don't forget to bring us your donated items to help keep our store going.

PROJECTS...Purpose...and....Promise
ART ON!
Our third goal is to have a creative area set up for staff, volunteers and community to join in and make art. Whether using something they have purchased in our store or if they are bringing in their own items to work on. We will offer space to set up and work in a friendly atmostphere. With the big Pinterest craze online, we have begun to create many of our own projects and are successfully selling them. We do offer classes on many of the projects we make.

BUILDING FUND ESTABLISHED - PLEASE HELP

Help us build a permanent home.
We have been very fortunate to have a buliding donated to use for 2 years. We are almost 1/4 of the way thru the first year. We are beginning to get a plan together to raise money for a new location. We are going to try to raise the money through private donates given specifically for the building so that non of the money we raise in the store will have to be taken away from the needs of the people we serve.
We need your generous donations to help us make this happen.
We have an account set up at the Citizens Bank of Pretty Prairie where you can donate to Ubuntu. And we have started a page on Go Fund Me.com where you can also donate.
